Dictation comes in the same app as the meeting assistant: it records without bots, gives you the tasks and the dates, and files each meeting in its matter.
See the meeting assistantYes. Dictation is part of ablalo, the same app that takes notes of your meetings: you install it once and you get both. You can try it free for 14 days, no card needed.
Not yet: today ablalo recognises Spanish speech only. Its interface can be set to English, and in Assistant mode you can ask it to translate what you dictate in Spanish into English, for clients or colleagues abroad.
The meeting assistant takes notes of a conversation: who said what, the tasks and the dates. Dictation is for what you write yourself: you speak and the text appears in Word, your email or whatever program you are in. Both come in the same app.
Yes. Briefs, claims, reports, contracts, legal opinions or case notes: you get the draft out by speaking in Word, your email or any program, and you review and sign it. It makes no difference whether you are a lawyer, a procurador (court representative), a graduado social (employment law practitioner), an adviser or in-house counsel. ablalo writes what you dictate, in Spanish, at the speed of speech. It does not format documents automatically or come with legal templates: you provide the structure and the legal review.
Your voice is transcribed on your own computer and is not uploaded. Only in Assistant mode does the text go through a European AI, encrypted and under the GDPR. If you don't use Assistant mode, nothing leaves your computer. We don't sell your data or share it with third parties.
The speech engine already recognises more than 30,000 common Spanish legal terms out of the box (procedural, commercial, criminal, employment...). On top of that you have your own dictionary: you add the proper names, acronyms and jargon you repeat, and ablalo remembers them for good.
You don't need to raise your voice: speaking normally is enough. And it doesn't replace the keyboard, it adds to it: you dictate when you can speak and type when you need silence or precision. With a discreet headset, nobody around you notices. You choose at every moment.
Your laptop's is fine to start with, but it is far from your mouth and picks up the whole room: the keyboard, the air conditioning and the conversation next door. A gooseneck desk microphone, twenty centimetres away, hears your voice and little else. It shows in the accuracy and, above all, it lets you dictate quietly without having to raise your voice in a shared office. If you are going to buy one, we use the BOYA BY-GM18: it connects by USB with nothing to install and stays on your desk.
It works in any program where you can type, with no plugins or per-app setup: Word, your email (Outlook, Gmail), the browser, your case management software or a PDF. You install ablalo once, use a single keyboard shortcut and the text appears wherever you are typing, as if you had just typed it yourself.
Yes. ablalo is a desktop app for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and for Mac, with Apple Silicon or Intel. You install it once and it works in any program on your computer.
Dictation writes what you say as you say it, wherever your cursor is. Transcription turns a recording you already have (a hearing, a witness statement, a client meeting) into text. ablalo does both, in Spanish, and it transcribes the recording on your own computer: we explain how in transcribing Spanish meetings and hearings.
Most people type well below their speaking speed, and that is where your voice gives you time back. Besides, nobody takes your keyboard away: voice is one more option. And the value is not only speed, it is getting the draft out without starting from a blank page.
