Is the hearing recording uploaded to any server?
No. The transcription and the identification of the speakers are done on your own computer, and the recording, the text, the voices and the notes stay on your computer until you delete them. That is the difference from online transcription services, which ask you to upload the file.
What video and audio formats does it support?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, M4A, MP3, WAV, OGG, Opus, FLAC and AAC. It works both with the video of the hearing and with audio recorded on a mobile phone or a voice recorder.
Does it tell who is speaking at each moment?
Yes. It identifies the different voices and labels each paragraph with its own. Then you listen to a short clip of each one, give it a name and the name is applied to the whole transcript. If two voices turn out to be the same person, they are merged.
Can I export the transcript to Word?
Yes, to an editable Word document with the timestamps and the name of each speaker. You can also export only the notes, grouped by type, or copy them to paste into a brief.
Can it transcribe Teams, Zoom or Meet meetings?
Yes. You can add the recording of the meeting or record it from ablalo. On Windows and on Mac (macOS 14.2 or later) it records your microphone and the computer's sound, so it picks up everyone on the video call. Before recording, tell the others; if you are a lawyer, you also need their consent.
How long does it take to transcribe a hearing?
It depends on the length of the recording and on how powerful the computer is. The text appears as it is transcribed, the app tells you how much is left and you can keep dictating in the meantime.
Is it included in the ablalo plan?
Yes. The Hearings tab is part of the app: you have it in the 14-day free trial, with no card, and in the Professional plan. See pricing.
